Under head coach Manny Diaz, Duke football continues to make major strides. After a 62-7 beatdown of William & Mary Saturday, which saw the Blue Devils score 48 points unanswered, Duke now sits 4-0, with notable wins against Tulane and Illinois to begin the season. As a result, the Blue Devils have jumped up into the top-25 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, currently sitting in the No. 21 spot.
However, this ranking didn't translate into a top-25 position in the latest AP Poll. After tallying the votes, Duke landed in the No. 27 spot, one point behind Wisconsin and 17 points behind Missouri, who hold the final spot at No. 25.
With Duke on the precipice of returning to top-25 status, when was the last time that their football program reached the top-25?
The Blue Devils found themselves as high as No. 16 in October of 2023, after beginning the year with a 5-1 record. Unfortunately, they'd drop four of their final six regular season games in what would be Mike Elko's final season in charge.
