After missing a game with a shoulder injury, former Duke star Cooper Flagg returned Monday to take on the Miami Heat away from home. During the contest, Flagg matched his counterpart, former MVP Award winner Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the two both scored 29 points on an identical 12-for-23 night from the field.
While Antetokounmpo accounted for more rebounds, Flagg did it all and was a force defensively, finishing the contest with 11 assists, six rebounds, five steals and three bocks. Not only that, but Flagg propelled Dallas to their second win of the year, scoring 10 points in the final five minutes as the Mavericks held on to win 113-109.
In doing so, Flagg became the first teenager in NBA history to record a game with 25 or more points, 10
or more assists and five or more steals.
In three games to begin the 2026-27 campaign, last year's Rookie of the Year Award winner is averaging 25 points, 6.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and an incredible 3.7 steals. Looking ahead, Flagg and the Mavericks will host the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday.
