Friday's preseason game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Chicago Bulls was a big night for Isaiah Evans, a recent second-round pick from Duke. Not only did Evans put forth his best game in an NBA uniform, scoring a game-high 21 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists, but he also got to meet up with one of his favorite Blue Devils.
After the game, a camera caught Evans chatting with Bulls' point guard Tre Jones. Jones had an efficient night himself, scoring eight points in 14 minutes off the bench on 4-for-6 shooting with five assists, two rebounds and zero turnovers.
This was a special moment for Evans, as he's previously admitted that Jones was the player who inspired him to commit to Duke. Jones, who spent two seasons
with the Blue Devils, had an underrated tenure, winning the 2019-2020 ACC Player of the Year Award and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year Award while averaging 16.2 points, 6.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals.
