After coming back and holding off Missouri on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns have jumped three spots in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll. Texas 24-20 road win over the Tigers has seen the Longhorns jump to No. 8.
The Longhorns win over another ranked opponent will help UT's College Football Playoff resume. The Horns are No. 7 in the CFP Rankings. Texas has wins over four ranked teams so far this season and they play another one next week when they go to Baton Rouge to face No. 22 LSU.
With Miami's loss to Notre Dame, the Georgia Bulldogs are the new No. 1 team in the land. Unbeaten Utah, the Fighting Irish, UCLA and Indiana make up the rest of the top five. The Hurricanes dropped from No. 1 to No. 6. Alabama sits just ahead of Texas at No. 7. Tennessee
and Texas Tech are ranked No. 9 and No. 10 respectively.
There are eight SEC teams ranked in the poll, including No. 1 Georgia. That's down one from last week as Mizzou fell out after the loss to Texas. The Big Ten has six ranked teams. The Big 12 lands five in the Top 25 and the ACC has just three.
