It's not just the "Eyes of Texas" that are on the Longhorns. Texas football is the most watched program in all of college football through four games of the 2026 season. The Horns have had two of the three most watched games of the season so far and are averaging by far the most viewers per game.
The most-watched college football game so far this season was in Week 2 when No. 1 Ohio State traveled to Austin to take on the then No. 4 ranked Texas. UT's epic comeback over the Buckeyes on ABC drew 13.99 million. It was ABC's most-watched regular season game since 2026.
The 2026 Ohio State actually didn't have as many viewers as the 2025 game between the two blue blood powerhouses. The nighjt version of Ohio State and Texas was down from last year’s
16.6 million on Big Noon Saturday on Fox Sports. That game, played in Week 1 and not Week 2, drew 16.62 million, which stands as the most-watched Week 1 game, ever.

Ohio State-Texas 2026 was the most-watched Week 2 college football game ever. It was the most-watched primetime regular-season game since 2012, which featured Notre Dame vs. USC.
Texas' visit to Rocky Top also had massive viewership. Texas-Tennessee easily led Week 4 with 9.8 million viewers on ABC. The SEC in general blew the rest of the conferences away. Five of the 10 games featured SEC matchups, including the top three most-watched games of the week. UT vs. UT was followed by Ole Miss at Florida and Texas A&M at LSU.
