Colin Simmons had the game of his life. The Texas Longhorns EDGE had five sacks, one away from the FBS record, in the Longhorns 20-17 win at Tennessee. But Simmons also drew national attention for a certain unsportsmanlike conduct foul that was ... to be kind ... a horrendous and embarrassing penalty.
In the second quarter, Simmons got a sack in the middle of the second period then went too far in his celebration. As the referee told the crowd, Simmons "simulated going to the restroom." Simmons was briefly taken out of the game. After returning, he was a man possessed.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian was asked about it after the game.
“We took him out,” Sarkisian said, “We addressed it, and put him back in. I’m not gonna give the guy the death penalty
over an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. We’ve got to fix it though. That can’t continue as we move forward.”

Sark says it will be addressed this week.
"As I told touched on with team in the locker room, we'll address that on Monday and what that looks like and how to control our emotions," he said. "And the best way, I know guys are excited when they're making plays, but the best thing you can do is go celebrate with a teammate."
Sark says the "look at me" culture has become more prevalent in American society since the rise of social media. But it's not an excuse.
“Unfortunately, in our society right now, we live in the ‘look at me’ society,” Sarkisian said. “All of you guys have your Twitter accounts, and as fast as you can type something because you want everyone to look at your account, and you get clicks. Well, that’s the world that we live in. So we’ve got to get to —it’s about the team and focus on the team, and not so much ‘look at me.’ So we’ll try to improve upon that, but five sacks was pretty cool today too.”
