The Texas Longhorns have the Aggies number. UT is 78-37 all time against its biggest rival. The Longhorns beat Texas A&M in 2011 in their final meeting as Big 12 foes and are 2-0 against A&M since joining them in the SEC. Aggies QB Marcel Reed is sick of it.
The junior A&M QB didn’t hold back on his feelings towards the Longhorns in an interview with USA TODAY Sports columnist Blake Toppmeyer. Reed detailed his many beefs with Texas, starting with UT's colors.
“I hate the color orange,” Reed said, “The colors just look so ugly. Everywhere you go (in Austin), you see that color orange. Burnt orange? Who likes burnt orange? Texas, it’s the rival, bro. You gotta hate them.”

Last year, Texas beat A&M 27-17. The Aggies entered the game 11-0 and needed a win to reach the SEC Championship game for the first time in history, a feat UT accomplished in its first year in the league.
In that game, Reed struggled, throwing two costly interceptions down the stretch that thwarted an Aggies comeback and canceled A&M's trip to Atlanta. A&M would go on to lose its first ever college football playoff game to Miami.
“We don’t like Texas. I don’t like Texas,” Reed told USA TODAY. “It sucks that we’ve lost to them twice. But, they’re coming here this year, so they’re gonna have to pay. I’ve got something for them, for sure.”
It might be the final game of the 2026 regular season, but the hype has already begun.
