Like the US LBM Coaches Poll that came out earlier on Tuesday, the Texas Longhorns have moved up in the AP Top 25 ranking. UT climbed one spot from No. 5 to No. 4 in the poll. Texas is No. 3 in the Coaches Poll, published by USA TODAY Sports. Notre Dame and Texas swap spots in the two rankings.
The Oregon Ducks fell in both polls thanks to an upset scare from Boise State. The Ducks tumbled from No. 2 to No. 6 in both rankings. Georgia is the new No. 2 in the two polls. Notre Dame checks in at No. 3 in AP, one spot ahead of Texas. Indiana rounds out the top five.
The Texas A&M Aggies fell two spots in the AP Top 25, down to No. 10. LSU jumped three spots after the Tigers' demolition of Clemson over the weekend. Oklahoma and Texas Tech also fell one
spot.
Nine SEC teams are ranked in the AP poll. The Big Ten now has seven ranked teams. The ACC and Big 12 each have four teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
