After going from No. 1 to fighting for a College Football Playoff spot, is the job of Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian on the line? Urban Meyer says if it was Ohio State, Sark would be gone.
"This is a Rubicon," Fox host and former coach Urban Meyer said on The Triple Option podcast. "If they lose this one, I mean, you are in serious trouble."
Sarkisian is being heavily criticized from all corners of Longhorns nation and the national media for Texas' two-game losing streak in which prized quarterback Arch Manning has looked pedestrian at best. There's even been suggestions Manning should be benched. It all points to a must-win game for the Longhorns Saturday against Ole Miss.

In the NIL era, boosters have invested a lot of money to bring in the best talent possible to the Forty Acres. The current perception is Sarkisian is waisting the talent and waisting the money.
Initially, former Ohio State and Florida coach Urban Meyer said he didn't think Sark's job is on the line.
"I don't think it's his job," Meyer said. "I just think it's his legacy though. You're the guy that couldn't get it done at Texas."
But when pressed by host Rob Stone about the money spent on the team, Meyer compared it to the Buckeyes.
"If this happens at Ohio State ... gone," Meyer said. "So maybe."
