With the start of Emmett Mosley's second season in the burnt orange less than two weeks away, expectations are high for the veteran wide receiver. He flashed his potential last year and has been working to improve on his success. That has stood out to Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, who had high praise for one of his favorite weapons earlier this week.
When asked about Mosley on Tuesday, Manning said, " Emmet's had a really good fall camp. He practices his *** off.. sorry ( for cursing) but he is a really good player, and I think he's going to have a great year."

The high
praise comes as no surprise, given what Mosley did last year. In his first season in the SEC, the Chicago native hauled in 28 receptions for 408 yards. He also found the end zone three times and averaged 45.3 yards per game. While the 2025 campaign was full of changes for Mosley, he did not seem overwhelmed and earned Manning's trust.
Although Mosley was unable to match his Stanford numbers, he was a key piece of the Longhorns' passing game. He was also limited by injuries, which is partly why his statistics were down. Now that Mosley is fully healthy, he should be able to match his freshman numbers when he had over 500 receiving yards.

As Mosley looks to raise his stock, he will have to battle for opportunities. The Longhorns added highly regarded wide receiver Cam Coleman through the transfer portal during the offseason. There will also be a few returning faces such as Ryan Wingo and Kaliq Lockett who have shown flashes of promise. That group could end up being one of the best offenses in the nation.
Regardless of how the depth chart plays out, Mosley is poised to have a special 2026 campaign as Texas chases a national title.
