The first official SEC injury report of the season is out and there's one name on the Texas Longhorns list that could hurt the offense against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. Texas running back Hollywood Smothers is listed as questionable.
Along with fellow transfer running back Raleek Brown, Hollywood Smothers has been a key to the Texas offense this season. Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian brought the two-headed RB monster in to bolster a running game that was historically bad in 2025.
Smothers has 198 yards on 41 carries through three games so far this year. The NC State transfer also has two touchdowns. Smothers was key in the fourth quarter comeback over Ohio State two weeks ago.
Joining him on the injury list is EDGE Colin Simmons, who
missed the entire second half last Saturday against UTSA. After the game, Simmons was spotted with a boot on his foot. The good news is Simmons is listed as probable.
Texas has six players overall on the injury report. DL Justus Terry, DB Xavier Filsaime and OL Jordan Coleman are listed as out for the game in Knoxville. TE Nick Townsend is listed as doubtful.
