The Chargers are expected to be one of the biggest sellers ahead of the November 10 trade deadline.
Los Angeles was expected to possibly make a trade or two to add to their roster. However, a month into the season, they still haven't won a game, and at 0-5, they are on the verge of a fire sale.
It’s all speculation for now, but it could become reality if they keep going down this road as the deadline approaches. One name at the top of the trade board is Khalil Mack.
The Chargers are expected to get a ton of calls on Mack in the coming weeks; however, this wild trade proposal would send the veteran edge rusher to one of their biggest rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay believes adding Mack is one move the Chiefs need to put
them over the top.
Kansas City Chiefs receive: EDGE Khalil Mack
Los Angeles Chargers receive: 2027 fifth-round draft pick
"While Mack is one of the more decorated defenders of the modern era, he's yet to win a ring during his 13-year NFL career. Joining forces with the Chiefs would give him a chance to do so, as his presence shores up Kansas City's most glaring weakness and gives the club a far better chance of raising another banner."
While there's a good chance Mack gets traded in the coming weeks, the likelihood that the Chargers hand him over to the Chiefs is extremely low.
The Chiefs and Chargers are on two different paths this season. Kansas City is 4-0 and is right in the thick of the Super Bowl mix.
As for the Chargers, they were supposed to be on the same path as the Chiefs; however, their season has gone sideways.
The Chargers are 0-5, and it's unclear when they'll get their first win, as they are in the middle of their toughest stretch of the season.
Mack is desperate to make a deep playoff run and capture a Super Bowl title in his illustrious career. He won't do that with the Chargers, and the Chiefs give him a real shot.
