Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has his mind far from the trade deadline.
After the Chargers' seventh straight loss to open the season, Harbaugh told reporters his attention has already shifted to Week 9 against the Texans. As for the looming trade deadline, Harbaugh said those responsibilities belong to the front office.
"I'm focused on the Texans. I know Joe, Chad, the organization will always look to improve the team,” Harbaugh said.
The Chargers are not engaging in any trade talks involving any of their players, especially Khalil Mack. Mack is among the top trade candidates; however, Los Angeles has no plans to trade him and Harbaugh reiterated that.
"I want Khalil Mack here. Khalil Mack wants to be here. He's one of the pillars of our team,”
Harbaugh said.
The Chargers' 0-7 start is their worst since the 2000 season.
The Bolts organization believed that a turnaround was in sight; however, after Sunday's contest against the Rams, it left many with more questions than answers.
The Chargers offense was abysmal again. They scored only 9 points, didn't score a touchdown, and failed to sustain drives consistently.
It was clear that the Chargers' bye week did them zero favors. While Harbaugh is focused on finding a way to turn things around, his decisions thus far haven't produced the results the Chargers desperately need.
