A new Chargers mural has been unveiled.
Robert Vargas, the same artist behind the Shohei Ohtani mural in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, unveiled his latest mural, this time of the Chargers.

The mural features two of the Chargers' biggest stars and longest-tenured players, Justin Herbert and Derwin James Jr., and is titled "The Storm is Coming."
Herbert and James' portraits appear on the side of the DoubleTree Torrance hotel.
“Sports and art have a unique power to bridge cultures, unite communities, and bring people from all different backgrounds together,” Vargas said in an Instagram post.
“Diversity through sports. With “The Storm is Coming” mural, I want to capture that electric energy and local pride, celebrating
the Chargers and giving the South Bay a new visual anchor that inspires everyone who sees it.”
The unveiling of the mural came just a few days before the start of the 2026 season. The Chargers will kick off their season on Sunday, Sept. 13 against the Cardinals.
It will be the Chargers' first official game action since their dreadful playoff loss to the Patriots in the wild card round. This season, they will look to make a deep playoff run with Justin Herbert and Derwin James leading the way, along with the rest of the roster.
