The Chargers suffered their fifth consecutive loss to start the 2026 season.
Los Angeles had a chance to record their first win of the season, but the Broncos did just enough to come away with the victory.
After the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh struggled to find the right words to say after starting 0-5.
“Yeah, I don’t know what that message is,” Harbaugh said.
“It’s just in the players to just fight their hearts out, to play, give it everything they have. That’s the only way. That’s the best way.”
The Chargers were handed yet another loss, this time to their division rivals, the Denver Broncos, 23-17.
Los Angeles had multiple opportunities to come away with the win, but whether due to poor execution or play-calling, the Chargers couldn't get out
of their own way.
Harbaugh spoke about the questionable 4th-and-1 call Los Angeles went for on its own 41-yard line.
"Yeah, it was the wrong decision," he said.
"I can't think of a time I've been more mad at myself."
The Chargers were up by seven with 10:33 left in the contest. They failed to convert, and five plays later, Denver scored a touchdown to tie the game.
From there, things went sideways for the Chargers, leading to the loss.
The 2026 season hasn't gone as planned for the Chargers. Mike McDaniel's offense has been stagnant for much of the year, while the defense has played better over the last three games. However, the defense can only do so much when it's consistently put in difficult positions.
The season has been a nightmare for the Chargers, and the light at the end of the tunnel remains nowhere in sight.
