It’s the bye week for the Chargers, and they sit in a position that no one expected them to be in.
The Chargers are 0-6 and are on pace to finish with the No. 1 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Los Angeles didn't expect to get the No. 1 pick, and with the bye week here, that's not their plan.
The Bolts hope to turn things around when they hit the field again on Nov. 1, and if they do, safety Derwin James Jr. feels the tide will finally turn in their favor.
“It starts with just getting the next game in front of us and then going from there,” James Jr. said. “You can’t trick yourself into getting 11 wins until you get one. We’re oh-fer right now. We’ve got to get one, and once we get that one, I feel like we’ll just go from there.”
All it might take is
one win for the Chargers to turn it around, but we're going to have to wait and see.
The Chargers are still in the midst of their brutal stretch of the season. Brutal schedule or not, the Chargers are focused on turning things around — as a team.
“As a player, you’ve got to approach it with the mindset of caring about your teammates, right?” linebacker Daiyan Henley said. “You would hate to be a guy who uses this as a cop-out or an excuse to give in to whatever circumstances. When you’re out here, you’re a part of a team and when you’re a part of a team, you care about these guys and you go out there and you play for them. You find purpose, you find a reason. Right now, we’re trying to get a win.”
It's been a little over 10 months since the Chargers last won a game.
It's been tough sledding so far in 2026, but they hope the final 11 games of the season will go their way.
