Nothing seems to be going right for the Chargers to start the 2026 season.
Los Angeles has kicked off the season at 0-3, and they've shown few signs of turning things around.
Their slow start stems from several factors, including the offensive line. Justin Herbert's protection simply hasn't been good enough.
The interior offensive line was a concern at the start of the season, and it remains one. However, the two star tackles, Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, have also been disappointing, at least according to these numbers.
"LT Rashawn Slater's 76% Pass Block Win Rate ranks 57th out of 66 qualified tackles in the NFL this season and is by far his lowest in a season through 3 games in his career (next closest is 82% through 3 games in 2023)," Rhim wrote.
As for Alt, he leads the league in penalties with six.
"In Sunday's loss the offensive line finished with a 34.8% pass block win rate, its fourth-lowest PBWR in any game in Herbert's career," Rhim shared.
Slater's 76% pass-block win rate is his worst through three games in any season of his career.
Four of Alt's six penalties have been false starts.
The Chargers' entire offensive line posted a 34.8% pass-block win rate against the Bills, Herbert's fourth-lowest in a single game.
The offensive line woes were supposed to be a thing of the past; instead, it's been the same old story.
The Chargers offense has a long way to go to turn things around; luckily, they have 14 more games to get back on track.
