The Chargers made NFL history in the worst way possible in Sunday's loss to the Bills.
According to Pro Football Reference, since 2013, teams with 5+ turnovers and a -4 turnover margin are 3-81-1.
All those three wins came against the Chargers.
Outside of Sunday's game, the other losses came against the Broncos in 2015 and the Jaguars in 2023.
The Chargers' defense played well, up to par. Their Week 3 performance was by far their best performance of the season, coming against a high-powered offense led by quarterback Josh Allen.
Los Angeles forced the Bills and Allen to five turnovers, three fumbles and two interceptions.
However, the Chargers' offense didn't give the team a chance to win. They managed a touchdown and three field goals despite having
six drives that ended inside the Buffalo 30.“We did not win the game. That’s painful. That hurts,” coach Jim Harbaugh said. “There was a lot of opportunity. And we’ve got to capitalize on that. We have to be better.”
In the past 10 years, the Chargers are 2-2 when creating 5+ turnovers.
Los Angeles sits at 0-3 for the first time since 2017.
