Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman believes the Chargers should target wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
On his latest podcast, Sherman floated potential teams for Hill and named the Chargers.
“The L.A. Chargers,” Sherman said.
“Can he have a reunion with Mike McDaniels? Maybe. I think that would make sense for both parties.”
Hill took his last NFL snap nearly a year ago before a serious knee injury cut his season short. Since then, Hill has been rehabbing, and he's looked quite well.
The Chargers could use another wide receiver besides Ladd McConkey. Over three games this season, nobody besides McConkey has been a reliable target for Justin Herbert.
The Chargers could desperately use some help in that department, and most importantly, Hill knows
Mike McDaniel's system. The eight-time All-Pro wide receiver played some of his best football under McDaniel.
Hill's first two seasons in Miami under McDaniel were spectacular, with 238 receptions for 3,509 yards, 20 receiving touchdowns and an average of 14.7 yards per reception. In 2022 and 2023, Hill earned First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
After a serious knee injury, it's hard to ask Hill for that same production, but it could certainly be an upgrade for Los Angeles.
A short-term deal could help both parties.
Hill will look to prove himself despite age and injury concerns. As for the Chargers, they could use a speedster like him to add some juice to this stagnant offense.
