The Chargers landed on the wrong side of history after their disastrous loss in Week 2 to the Raiders.
According to OptaSTATs, the Chargers are the second team in NFL history to lose back-to-back games by double digits, with both coming at home against teams that had a sub-200 win pct the previous season.
The last team to do so is the 1926 Racine Tornadoes, who played just one more game before folding as a franchise.
It was more of the same for the Chargers from Week 1 to Week 2.
The offense was abysmal and looked flat for most of the game.
Justin Herbert looked lost, going 15-of-27 for 192 yards. He threw one touchdown and two interceptions. As for the Chargers defense, they allowed the Raiders to average 5.1 yards per play.
Nothing went right for
the Chargers on Sunday, and that's been the case for the first two weeks of the season.
Many expected the Chargers to take care of business in the first two weeks of the season. The Cardinals and Raiders went a combined 6-28 in 2025.
Instead, Los Angeles looked lost and soft against those two teams and now fall into a 0-2 hole.
Things will only get harder for the Chargers, as they face the Bills, Seahawks, Broncos and Chiefs before their Week 7 bye.
It's not the end of the season for the Chargers, but it certainly isn't looking good for a team that entered the season with so much promise.
