The Chargers have been urged to trade two of their key players entering Week 4: wide receiver Quentin Johnston and edge rusher Khalil Mack.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report named Johnston and Mack on the NFL trade big board.
"Johnston should still interest receiver-needy teams, though, as he has a high physical ceiling and another year on his rookie contract—Los Angeles did exercise his fifth-year option."
Knox noted how the 24-year-old would go for a fifth-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. He also noted how the Patriots and 49ers are potential suitors.
As for Mack, Knox stated that he'd go for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
"Teams are always looking to add pass-rushing help, and injuries have only increased the league-wide need at the position.
Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa have both been sidelined, and the New York Giants just placed Brian Burns on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL."
Knox listed the Rams and 49ers as potential suitors.
Johnston has been a negative for the Chargers through the first three games. He's struggled to get his name called, and when he has, he hasn't done much.
In Week 3's contest against the Bills, Johnston dropped a costly pass from Justin Herbert in the fourth quarter. It's been more of the same for Johnston, and this past weekend's outing may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
As for Mack, he's seeking a title and a playoff win in his Hall of Fame career. As things stand, Mack may not get that with the Chargers. If Los Angeles keeps going down this road, the Chargers should look for a new home for Mack.
