The Chargers are on pace to land a top-five pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Los Angeles sits at 0-4 to start the season, showing few signs of life to turn things around.
It's very likely they'll have won a game by the time their Week 7 bye approaches, and if that's not the case, Los Angeles will be sellers at the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
Many would turn to the Chargers to bolster their team, possibly calling about Khalil Mack.
Mack is certainly a potential trade candidate, and one NFL executive believes his days in Los Angeles are numbered.
That NFL executive told insider Jason La Canfora that Mack is as good as gone.
“I think he’s gone," the NFL executive said.
Mack, 35, has shown he can still be productive. The Chargers have already paid Mack $10 million
up front, so a contender could rent him for less than $4 million for the rest of the season at the deadline.
There is also a chance this will be Mack's final NFL season.
The only thing lacking from Mack's elite resume is a Super Bowl, and if the Chargers continue down this road, the front office may give him a chance to do just that elsewhere.
