The 2026 season has been far from kind to the Chargers.
They sit at 0-5 with few, if any, signs of turning things around this season. Considering that alone, the Chargers have little shot at making the playoffs.
Following their most recent loss to the Denver Broncos, a contest they were doorsteps away from winning, their playoff odds plummeted.
According to FOX Sports, the Chargers have the third-worst odds among AFC teams to make the playoffs. Los Angeles playoff odds are at +1550.
"The Chargers entered the season among the favorites to win the AFC. Now, after an 0-5 start, they are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in the Jim Harbaugh era. Los Angeles has lost eight straight games dating back to Week 16 of 2025, and Justin Herbert
became the only quarterback in NFL history to start 0-5 with an INT and multiple sacks taken in each of his team's first five games. The Chargers are now +1550 to make it to the playoffs."
The Chargers only have better odds than two teams: the Titans and the Dolphins.
Los Angeles has made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons under head coach Jim Harbaugh; however, that's unlikely to happen in his third year.
Harbaugh led the Chargers to 22 wins in his first two seasons, but his team has struggled in its last eight games. They have lost eight consecutive games dating back to the 2025 season, that's the longest streak in the NFL.
It doesn't get any easier for the Chargers, as they'll face one of the league's best teams in Week 6, theCity Chiefs.
