Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey will undergo further tests on Monday after suffering a rib injury in Week 1 against the Cardinals.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared the news on NFL Network.
"He [Ladd McConkey] is going to have tests this morning. Should be getting those results at some point soon. We will see how long he is going to be out, if at all," Rapoport said.
"Would obviously be a loss for the Los Angeles Chargers."
After Rapoport's report, McConkey is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
McConkey was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Cardinals late in the third quarter. He finished the game with five receptions, 82 yards, and a touchdown.
The
24-year-old absorbed a brutal hit over the middle on a 3rd & 16 with the Chargers down two points at the time.
The Chargers initially classified the injury as a chest issue after he immediately grabbed at his chest and back. The team will soon provide an update on the exact nature of his injury and whether he will miss time moving forward.
The Chargers may be without McConkey in their Week 2 matchup against the Raiders. Los Angeles will host Las Vegas in Week 2, and they will look to get on the win column, while the Raiders will look for their first 2-0 start since 2021.
