Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater is feeling as good as he has entering Week 1 against the Cardinals.
Slater said he is at 100 percent after a minor flare-up in his surgically repaired knee during training camp and is excited for the season opener.
"S***, man, it's just good to be back," Slater said.
"I missed playing last year and it was a long rehab and a long process, but I'm just thankful to be where I'm at."
Slater missed the entire 2025 season with a ruptured patellar tendon. He suffered the injury in last year's training camp, days after he signed a massive contract extension.
The 27-year-old sat out a few practices earlier during this year's training camp due to discomfort in his left knee. It was the same knee that Slater underwent surgery
on in August 2025.
It was a scare for all involved; however, as Slater stated a few days after the flare-up, it was nothing major.
Slater is set to enter his fifth season in the league and is poised for a big 2026. The last time Slater was on the field, he earned an elite 90.9 grade from Pro Football Focus and proved to be one of the better tackles in the NFL.
After a long recovery and ample time off, Slater is set to return to an elite level and do his part to catapult the Chargers' offense.
