The Chargers have added another weapon to their practice squad, signing former Dolphins wide receiver Theo Wease Jr.

Former Dolphins WR Theo Wease Jr. has signed with the Chargers practice squad, reuniting him with his former HC Mike McDaniel.

Wease was a member of the Dolphins in 2025, when Mike McDaniel was the team's head coach. Now, Wease will reunite with McDaniel as he prepares to enter his first season as the Chargers' offensive coordinator.
Wese is set to enter his second season in the league after going undrafted in 2025. The 25-year-old appeared in one game in the NFL. It came in Week 17 against the Buccaneers, where Wease scored the first NFL touchdown of his career on a 63-yard touchdown reception.
Prior to that, Wease spent most of his time on the Dolphins' practice squad. He spent most of the 2026 offseason with the Dolphins; however, Miami ultimately waived him before the roster cut deadline on Saturday.
Wease is the 20th player added to the Chargers' practice squad; however, teams are only allowed 16 players on their standard practice squad. Los Angeles has 17 players, plus three unofficial reported signings on their practice squad.
With that being the case, the Chargers will need to cut four players to make things official.
Wease played six seasons of collegiate football, his first four at Oklahoma and his last two at Missouri.
