Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh believes he was put on this Earth to handle both success and failure.
Harbaugh spoke to the media a day after Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos and delivered a powerful message amid his team's 0-5 start.
"I think one of the things we were all put on this Earth, one of the things we were all put on this Earth to do, was to handle both success and loss," Harbaugh said. "To do that with the same passion and enthusiasm and to show that you belong.
"That it can be turned around and there is winning football. That's what we're doing as a team," Harbaugh added.
The Chargers are in a difficult spot to say the least. They have lost five consecutive games to start the season, and the 2026 season is starting to look like
a lost one for Los Angeles.
The 2026 season was supposed to be the one where the Chargers officially established themselves as a juggernaut, with an improved offense led by Mike McDaniel. Instead, the offense is among the worst in the league and currently holds the No. 2 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
However, with 12 games left in the season, Harbaugh refuses to give up.
"Keep fighting. Keep being the leader, keep being the competitor, the believer you've been. Even more," Harbaugh said.
"It's shoulder to shoulder, we're in this fight all together."
The Chargers will look for their first win of the season this Sunday against the Chiefs. Kansas City leads the AFC West with a 4-0 record.
In 2025, the Chargers swept the Chiefs in their season series. Before that, the Bolts had lost seven straight to Kansas City.
