Week 5 has come and gone for the Chargers, and they have yet to collect a win in 2026.
The Chargers suffered a tough home loss to the Broncos, 23-17. They head into Week 6 without a win, and it doesn’t get any easier as they face the Chiefs.
Los Angeles is as short-handed as it can get. A day after their Week 5 loss, Jim Harbaugh provided injury updates on key players, including Ladd McConkey. Harbaugh said they were using McConkey as an emergency option, and he’s hopeful that he can practice this week.
The 24-year-old wide receiver was active but didn’t play a snap in the Chargers loss. Before their Week 5 contest, Harbaugh listed McConkey as week-to-week. He didn't practice Wednesday through Friday but was still listed as questionable.
Los Angeles
was already short on pass-catchers with Quentin Johnston ruled out with a chest injury.
Harbaugh also provided an update on offensive guard Kayode Awosika, saying that he is healing and rehabbing. Awosika has missed the last three games with a lower leg injury. Awosika's next chance to play will be in Week 6 against the Chiefs.
As for Bud Dupree, Harbaugh listed him as day-to-day, while Tre' Harris and Donte Jackson are week-to-week. Dupree injured his neck in the third quarter against the Broncos. Harris and Jackson are dealing with a hamstring injury. Harris suffered his injury in the third quarter of Week 5, while Jackson missed the entire contest after being held out of practice all week.
The Chargers will hope for a cleaner injury report as the week progresses and they prepare for Week 6.
