Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has officially named the starting left guard as Week 1 approaches.

Harbaugh named Kayode Awosika as the starting left guard for Los Angeles.

Awosika will join Jake Slaugther (center) and Cole Strange (right guard) in the Chargers' interior line.

Awosika will enter his first season as a Charger. The 27-year-old had the upper hand for the past few weeks in the long battle for the starting spot.

Harbaugh named Awosika as the frontrunner in late August, and with a few days to go until the start of the 2026 season, he will take the reins at left guard.

Awosika recently spent time with the Eagles and Lions before joining the Chargers. Los Angeles signed him to a one-year, $2 million deal in late March 2026 after he spent the previous

four seasons with Detroit.

Awosika signed with the Eagles in 2021 after going undrafted out of Buffalo.

The former Buffalo Bull has appeared in 50 career games, including 11 starts. Now Awosika could surpass that 11-start total in 2026.
