Chargers veteran safety Tony Jefferson made it clear how he feels after the team's troublesome 0-2 start.
Jefferson posted a series of photos on his personal Instagram with the caption, "A season will test you before it rewards you. The standard is the standard."
The Chargers season has not gotten off to the start many hoped and envisioned.
Los Angeles sits at 0-2, and while that start is never ideal, it's how they are losing. The Chargers are struggling mightily on all three phases, especially the offense, which looks out of sync and sloppy to start the season.
As for Jefferson's unit, the defense also doesn't look sharp. The unit has faced a major drop-off from Jesse Minter to Chris O'Leary.
The defense has struggled mightily in coverage, allowing
big plays downfield and failing to get off the field on third down. In addition, the Chargers lack a pass rush, generating only two sacks in two games and forcing only one takeaway.
In the first two games of 2026, Jefferson has recorded nine tackles and one pass defended.
The Chargers' road doesn't get much easier. Los Angeles' next two games alone will be against the Bills and the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks, both on the road.
Jefferson is in his third season with the Chargers, and under a one-year, $2 million deal that he signed in March 2026.
