The Chargers face an uphill battle in Week 3 as they hit the road for the first time this season to face the Bills.
This matchup will be the Chargers' toughest yet, as they face one of the league's elite teams. The Bills have looked lights-out while the Bolts have looked sluggish, to say the least.
It won't be easy, but the Chargers have a chance to finally get on the winning side. However, a handful of their guys will need to step up.
Here are the five players to watch for Sunday's contest in Orchard Park.
Justin Herbert
After two poor performances to start the season, the Chargers quarterback needs to get back on track. Herbert has 401 passing yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions combined — and the Chargers' offense ranks 30th in offensive EPA per play.
Week 3 is a huge opportunity for Herbert to show this offense can get rolling against a Bills pass defense that ranks near the bottom of the league.
Teair Tart
Tart is off to a strong season in 2026; however, it won't be easy against the Bills' high-powered rushing attack. He is part of the interior rotation that has helped the Chargers build the NFL's fifth-ranked run defense by defensive EPA through two games. Now he faces James Cook, who has 192 rushing yards through two weeks, plus Josh Allen's designed and scramble runs.
Tre' Harris
Harris has caught only four passes, and three of them came in Week 2. One of his catches was a 53-yarder against Las Vegas. Harris could be one of the ones to benefit among the Chargers' pass-catchers because of their depleted tight end room.
Oronde Gadsden
With David Njoku on IR and Charlie Kolar out for several weeks, Gadsden will be the primary tight end on the roster. Gadsden has 50 receiving yards and a touchdown through the first two games. Mike McDaniel said he's excited to find new ways to get the ball to Gadsden and involve him in the run game.
Daiyan Henley
Henley makes the list once again, for the same reason Tart did. The Chargers' run defense will be tested like no other. He's already recorded a half-sack this season, and the Chargers specifically highlighted his athleticism as important against Allen's scrambling ability. Cook is currently fourth in the NFL in rushing with 192 yards. Can Henley contain Buffalo's dangerous run game as well as hold up in coverage against tight end Dalton Kincaid?
