The Chargers take on the Texans in their Week 9 matchup this Sunday. Los Angeles will look for its first win of the season against a Houston team that has struggled early.
The Bolts are desperate to secure their first win of the season, but edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. and a formidable Texans defense stand in their way.
It's a difficult matchup for quarterback Justin Herbert and an offense that has struggled to find any consistency through seven games.
Los Angeles has been one of the league's most disappointing offensive units this season, but Anderson doesn't seem to agree.
Ahead of their Week 9 showdown, Anderson had nothing but praise for Herbert and the Chargers, despite their winless start.
“Yeah, he’s still a really great quarterback in this
league; you talk about a big guy who has a big arm, who can run around, who can throw the ball deep, and who makes a lot of plays with his legs. He’s still a very respectable player in this league, and we have a ton of respect for them.
"[Justin] Herbert, man, he's playing out of his mind,” Anderson said.
“They have a really great, solid o-line as well and some really good running backs that can get downhill, hit the perimeter, so it’s going to be a good challenge for us.”
Anderson may not be watching Chargers football this season.
The Chargers are arguably the worst team in the league. Their offense alone is worrisome, ranking 28th in total offense, 32nd in points per game, 28th in yards per game, 30th in yards per play, and 32nd in touchdowns per game.
It's been a nightmare season for Los Angeles for many reasons. Their offense is abysmal, and Herbert is at the center of it.
Herbert is on pace for his worst season yet. As for the offensive line Anderson mentioned, it continues to suffer from injuries and inconsistency.
The Chargers' running backs, including Omarion Hampton, have struggled to find any rhythm.
Nothing is going right for the Bolts, and if their struggles continue on Sunday, the Texans will have their way.
