The Chargers will do all they can to collect their first win of the 2026 season.
It’s been quite a roller coaster for the Bolts, who have struggled for a variety of reasons. However, a new week presents a new opportunity, and they will look to capitalize on it.
There are certainly things that need to go right for the Chargers, and if these four things happen (especially the first one), they’ll beat their division rival.
Here are four bold predictions in Week 5 against the Broncos.
The Chargers win, 23-17
Four straight losses to start the season have put the Chargers in quite a pickle.
There is no better way to start their turnaround than by beating their division rival. To do that, the Chargers must play a clean game, and if their defense shows up as it has since Week 3,
Los Angeles has a great chance to come away with the win.
The biggest key is limiting the penalties, not turning the ball over, and taking advantage of Denver's injuries in the secondary.
A victory could go a long way for the Bolts.
The Chargers win the turnover battle by at least two
If Herbert protects the football and the defense creates takeaways, Los Angeles could finally turn a competitive performance into a victory.
Tre' Harris records his first 100-yard receiving game
Harris will likely be the focal point when it comes to the passing game. Ladd McConkey is listed as questionable with a foot issue, while Quentin Johnston is ruled out with a chest injury.
On top of that, Denver's secondary isn't the healthiest. That's where Harris comes in and could take advantage of more favorable matchups and emerge as an important weapon for Herbert.
Tuli Tuipulotu records two sacks
Tuipulotu has yet to record a sack this season, but I believe he will emerge and make his mark this game.
Los Angeles needs to generate more consistent pressure, particularly with the offense struggling to sustain drives. Tuipulotu recording two sacks would give the Chargers a much-needed defensive spark and potentially swing a close AFC West game.
