Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. has officially been ruled inactive for the team’s Week 4 matchup against the Seahawks.
James, listed as questionable for the weekend, is sidelined with a lingering hamstring injury. He had previously been managing a fractured left pinky finger sustained in Week 2, which required him to play through Week 3 while wearing a cast. Although he had expressed optimism about shedding the cast this week, the hamstring issue was too severe to play.
James' absence leaves a void in a Los Angeles secondary tasked with containing a prolific Seahawks passing offense. With him out, the team will lean on safety Elijah Molden, who is returning to action after missing the previous two contests with a hamstring injury of his own,
and Tony Jefferson, Genesis Smith, and RJ Mickens.
Kickoff is set for 1:25 pm PT.
