The Chargers will take on the Bills in Week 3.
It will be their first game away from SoFi Stadium and their toughest test yet. The Bills look like a juggernaut to start the season, while the Bolts have stumbled, starting at 0-2.
It's been a nightmare season so far for the Chargers; however, a win over the Bills on Sunday could go a long way toward turning their season around.
If they want any chance of beating the Bills, at least one of these four things needs to happen.
Here are the bold predictions for Sunday.
Chargers hold the Bills under 100 rushing yards
Buffalo is averaging 144.5 yards per game, with James Cook and Josh Allen annihilating the Lions' run game on Thursday night. While much isn't going right for the Chargers, their run defense is. They've allowed just 86.5 rushing yards per game and 2.7
yards per carry through two weeks. I think they will continue their stout run defense in Buffalo.
Chargers score 24+ points
After two weeks, this is maybe too bold. The Chargers have mustered only 28 points through two games, with their offense showing no signs of life in most contests. While the Bills are elite, their defense hasn't gotten off to a hot start. Buffalo has allowed 273 passing yards per game and 62 points through the first two weeks. If there's a week to turn the offense around, it's this one.
Derwin James records an interception
The Chargers have only collected one interception on defense this season. While Allen is regarded as one of the league's best quarterbacks, he can be a little reckless at times. That's where James comes in. Although Allen hasn't thrown an interception yet this season, I expect he'll throw at least one to James.
Oronde Gadsden records 100+ receiving yards
Gadsden will be the primary target after David Njoku was placed on the IR and Charlie Kolar is out with a forearm injury. The second-year tight end is in line for a big game, and with the opportunities he'll have, he could help get this offense going.
