The Chargers suffered what could be their most brutal loss of the season after Week 1.
Los Angeles didn't show up to play the Cardinals, and the Chargers did a lot of things wrong. They were sloppy on all three phases, and their first game of the season brought many questions to light, including questions about the interior offensive line.
The Chargers' interior offensive line wasn't at its sharpest Sunday afternoon. It also didn't help that Los Angeles rotated between Kayode Awosika and Trey Pipkins III at left guard.
Awosika was the clear winner between the two, while Pipkins struggled.
According to Pro Football Focus, Awosika had an 85.1 pass-blocking grade. He also allowed no sacks or pressure on Justin Herbert.
As for Pipkins, he had a 52.9
pass-block grade and allowed a sack and a pressure.
Awosika played in 35 offensive snaps, while Pipkins played in 20.
After the game, Jim Harbaugh spoke on his thought process on platooning the left guard position.
There was a clear winner between the two. The choice is obvious going forward; however, we'll see what exact adjustments the Chargers make on that front with Week 2 approaching.
