The Chargers are off to a disastrous start to the season. Sitting at 0-3 with 0-4 staring them down, the Bolts are not in a great spot.
It's far from an ideal start for Los Angeles, but they have time on their side. With Week 4 approaching, the Chargers have 13 games left in the season.
Many are already writing off the Chargers, but that's not the case for former running back Melvin Gordon.
Gordon appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and believes the Chargers can still turn things around.
"It's still early," Gordon said.
"It's still a new system. We don't know how tough his system is or how hard it is for guys to learn. We don't know that.
"I know they have enough time, and they have the makeup to make things right.
"The 0-3, I've been hearing a lot
of people down on the Chargers. I think at the end of the day, regardless of who's the offensive coordinator, they're just not playing their best ball right now." I just don't think it looks clean yet."
The slow start to the season can be pointed to a variety of reasons, but most notably it's the offense that's failed to live up to expectations.
The Chargers rank 29th in the NFL in scoring with 14.7 points per game and 30th in expected points added (EPA) per play [-0.21]. Their 44 total points through three games are the franchise's fewest since 2003.
Justin Herbert's play and the entire offense have been lackluster, to say the least. From miscommunication, offensive line adjustments, fourth-quarter collapses, and wide receiver drops, it's been one thing after another for the Chargers.
Time is still on the Chargers' side, but they'd better fix things before it's too late.
