Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he will not rotate the left guard spot as they did in Week 1.
Harbaugh said Kayode Awosika will start and play at left guard.
ESPN's Kris Rhim shared the news via X.
Last week, Harbaugh rotated Awosika and Trey Pipkins III at left guard, highlighting the ongoing competition for the starting spot.
Awosika outperformed Pipkins; still, they had plenty of blown assignments, holding penalties, and false starts that stalled drives. Awosika was stellar in pass-blocking, recording an 85.1 grade in that department, according to Pro Football Focus.
As for Pipkins, he had a PFF pass-blocking grade of 41.4 and allowed one sack and one pressure.
Pipkins is ruled out for Week 2 with a knee injury. The 30-year-old did not practice
all week leading up to the game.
Earlier in the week, Harbaugh said he was not satisfied with how the game went in Week 1, particularly the offensive line.
“No, I’ve never been satisfied with anything related to football," Harbaugh said.
"It’s not a word that I associate with football.”
The Chargers will look for a better outing as they prepare to host the Raiders.
