The Chargers are off to a nightmare start to the 2026 season. Not only are they 0-2, but they've lost to two of the league's worst teams from last season.
On top of that, they've played uninspiring football, leaving many to wonder whether they'll ever find a win, especially with a gauntlet of a schedule still ahead.
It's too early to tell; however, after two weeks, the Chargers do not look promising. Many pundits and experts are already writing them off, including ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano.
In Graziano's latest column, he said he's baffled by the Chargers, especially the pairing of Mike McDaniel and Justin Herbert.
"The Chargers have fooled me for the last time. What a horrendously disappointing first two weeks for one of the teams we were most
excited about entering the season," Graziano wrote.
"The Mike McDaniel/Justin Herbert pairing has not clicked at all -- quite the opposite, in fact. Everything looks difficult and exhausting for the Chargers' offense. And now the schedule is about to become brutal and injuries are setting in."
Nothing has gone right for the Chargers, especially on offense. McDaniel's scheme that many were raving about before the season started has looked disjointed.
It appears that McDaniel's complex scheme is too much to handle for many on the offense. Instead of touchdowns and explosive plays, it's led to high turnovers and penalties.
Mental errors and mistakes have not helped either.
The Chargers have a long way to go if they want to turn things around, as the margin for error is shrinking. If Los Angeles wants to salvage the season, it needs to start looking like the team many expected before the hole gets even deeper.
