Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed that linebacker Denzel Perryman will miss a minimum of four games after being placed on the injured reserve to start the season.
Harbaugh told reporters that Perryman's four-game absence won't be any longer than that.
"I know it will be a minimum of four games," Harbaugh said. "I don't know if it will take that long.
"Close to it, it depends on the rehab and things. I don't think it will be too much longer than that, though," Harbaugh added.
The Chargers placed Perryman on the IR with an undisclosed injury. The earliest we can see Perryman in 2026 is for the Week 5 contest against the Broncos.
This is the second consecutive season that Perryman lands on the IR. Last season, he landed there with a high-ankle
sprain that he suffered in Week 1 of 2025. Perryman did not return until the second half of the season in October.
The 33-year-old was held to 10 games in 2025, during which he recorded 47 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 3 passes defensed.
Perryman is one of the five linebackers who made the initial 53-man roster.
In eight seasons with the Chargers, Perryman has recorded 451 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, 9 passes defensed, and 3 interceptions. He is set to enter his 12th season in the NFL.
