After a 0-2 start to the season, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has a simple plan for the daunting schedule ahead.
Harbaugh told reporters on Monday that he's taking each game and attacking it one at a time.
“I looked it as a very tough 17 week stretch," Harbaugh said about the difficulty of their upcoming schedule.
"And we’re attacking it one game at a time.”
The Chargers' first two weeks were considered the "easiest" part of their schedule. The Cardinals and Raiders went 6-28 combined last season, and the Chargers were heavy home favorites to win those two games.
Instead, Los Angeles looked flat in their first two games and are now in a 0-2 hole, with their toughest stretch of games coming over the next month and a half.
From Weeks 3 to 10, the
Chargers face the Bills, Seahawks, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams, Texans and Ravens. Five of those seven games are on the road.
Starting with Week 3, the Chargers are already massive road underdogs against Buffalo. The Chargers' defense struggled with Jacoby Brissett and Kirk Cousins, and they will face arguably the best player in the NFL, Josh Allen.
Allen is off to a hot start, accounting for nine touchdowns through the first two games of the season. He's completing 66.7% of his passes and has accounted for 79% of the Bills' total yardage and 90% of their touchdowns, while the team averages 38.5 points per game.
As for Justin Herbert, he's on pace for his worst completion percentage of his career, currently sitting under 60%. The Chargers, and especially their offense, look lost.
Nonetheless, Week 3 could be a great opportunity for the Chargers to get on track and turn the season around.
