The Chargers are signing veteran wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl champion Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

This signing comes hours after the Chargers announced they hosted Valdes-Scantling for a workout. It also comes after Los Angeles listed Ladd McConkey as day-to-day with a rib injury he suffered Sunday against the Cardinals.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh said they will see how McConkey progresses throughout the week before determining his availability for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Raiders.
On Wednesday, before signing Valdes-Scantling, Los Angeles signed wide receiver Gary Jennings Jr. after placing fellow pass-catcher KeAndre Lambert-Smith on injured reserve.
Valdes-Scantling spent time with
the Cowboys during training camp this past offseason. Dallas cut him at the end of camp, and he has been looking for his next opportunity.
The 31-year-old has spent eight seasons in the NFL, playing for the Packers, Chiefs, Bills, Steelers, 49ers and the Saints.
Last season, Valdes-Scantling played for the 49ers and Steelers. In 10 games, five with each, Valdes-Scantling recorded 14 receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown.
In his career, Valdes-Scantling has tallied 219 receptions for 3,686 yards, 21 touchdowns and averages 16.8 yards per reception.
The Chargers will now be Valdes-Scantling's seventh team of his career.
