There's just something about playing the Eagles in Philadelphia that does weird things to the Los Angeles Rams. Having lost their last two games to the Eagles in Philly, the Rams once again struggled on Sunday afternoon in an ugly, sloppy game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Both teams had issues on offense, in large part because of injuries. The Rams were without Terrance Ferguson and Colby Parkinson, while the Eagles were missing DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert before losing Saquon Barkley on the opening drive. But for the Rams, the mistakes were self-inflicted. Penalties, drops and interceptions were the story of the game, failing to get anything going on offense.
Despite allowing 20 points, the Rams' defense did its job. Los Angeles held the Eagles
to only 172 yards and zero third-down conversions on 12 attempts, but the Rams didn't take advantage of any stops made by the defense – until late in the fourth quarter.
After the Rams stopped the Eagles at the 2-yard line, they went 98 yards and scored a touchdown to pull within three points, making it 20-17. Following another third-down stop, the Rams got the ball back with 3 minutes to play and trailing by only three points.
They drove down the field in 1:45 and scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 7-yard touchdown run by Kyren Williams, his second score of the game. It gave Los Angeles its first lead of the day, capitalizing on a great defensive stop by the Rams on the previous drive.
The defense once again stood tall, stopping the Eagles on third and fourth down to seal the win, 24-20.
Final score: Rams 24, Eagles 20

Numbers to know
4: Matthew Stafford has thrown an interception in four straight games, his longest streak ever to start a year.
147: For the second straight week, Kyren Williams went over 100 yards from scrimmage. He finished with 147 total yards, 80 on the ground and 67 as a receiver.
0: The Rams held the Eagles to zero third-down conversions, forcing Philadelphia to go 0-for-12 on third in this game.
19: Puka Nacua put up 125 yards receiving, which was his 19th career game in the regular season with at least 100 yards.
It was over when…
... Byron Young knocked the ball out of Jalen Hurts' hand for a fumble on the Eagles' last-ditch drive in the final seconds. That put the Eagles in fourth-and-25 and essentially sealed the game.
3 stars of the game
- Kyren Williams
- Puka Nacua
- Kam Kinchens
Play of the game
There weren't too many to choose from, but Nacua's first catch of the game was a great one. He juggled it at first but kept his focus and managed to haul it in as he was going to the ground for a 28-yard catch.

What's next?
The Rams will fly back to Los Angeles and get ready for another tough game against the Bills next Monday night. At 2-2, the Rams are in much better shape now than they would've been had they lost to the Eagles and dropped to 1-3. Meanwhile, the Bills lost, 29-26, to the Patriots.
