Brandin Cooks is back in the NFC West. The San Francisco 49ers signed Cooks to their practice squad this week, adding some much-needed wide receiver depth after losing another former Rams wideout, Demarcus Robinson, to injury.
Cooks last played for the Bills
in 2025 but was a free agent all offseason. He'll now try to help the 49ers, who are once again dealing with a rash of injuries early in the season.In 15 games with the Saints and Bills last season, Cooks caught 24 passes for 279 yards but didn't have a touchdown. He also caught five passes for 78 yards in the playoffs for Buffalo.

Cooks was with the Rams for two years (2018-2019) after Los Angeles acquired him in a trade with the Patriots. He's never made a Pro Bowl but he does have six career 1,000-yard seasons, which have come with four different teams.
