The Los Angeles Rams exorcised their demons in Philadelphia on Sunday by finally beating the Eagles after losing four in a row to their cross-country rivals. It took a dramatic comeback after trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but they got the job done and came away with the win.
Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua were both catalysts on offense, while Byron Young shut the door on the Eagles with some clutch play down the stretch. Here are this week's studs and duds.
Stud: Kyren Williams
For the second week in a row, Williams was outstanding, both as a runner and receiver. He rushed for 80 yards and caught 10 passes for 67 yards, scoring twice on the ground – both in the fourth quarter, too. He was running hard and once again showed good speed around the edge,
looking like the best version of himself that he ever has in the NFL.
Williams brings an attitude and toughness to the offense, which gives Sean McVay confidence when he has to call the running back's number in the red zone or a key third-down situation.
Stud: Puka Nacua
Nacua put a stamp on his first game back from injury, catching nine passes for 125 yards and scoring on a 2-yard rushing touchdown. His first catch was a spectacular one, juggling the ball as he went to the ground and holding on for a 28-yard gain.
Down the stretch, he was particularly good. He had three catches for 35 yards on the game-winning drive, delivering in the clutch once again, as he always does.
Stud: Kam Kinchens
Kinchens brought the energy in his first game since Week 1. He laid a big hit on Makai Lemon after a catch over the middle and was successful on several blitzes off the edge, one of which led to a half-sack split with Byron Young. He finished with six tackles, a half-sack and a pass breakup.
His aggression and hard-hitting in the secondary certainly provided a spark on defense.
Stud: Byron Young
If Williams and Nacua were closers on offense, Young was just that on defense. He had a half-sack prior to the Rams' final defensive drive, and within a three-play span, he added two sacks to his total. He sacked Jalen Hurts on first down and then got to him again for the strip-sack on third down, making it fourth-and-25 with only seconds left on the clock.
He's been excellent for the Rams with Myles Garrett out and showed once again on Sunday that his speed can't be contained in obvious passing situations.
Dud: Harrison Mevis
Sean McVay talked about trusting Mevis' range this past week but he might have to rethink that faith. Mevis made a 40-yarder but in the second half, he yanked a 48-yarder way left and missed it badly. After missing just one kick all of last year, Mevis has struggled badly this season.
To make matters worse, Mevis kicked it out of bounds on a fourth-quarter kickoff, giving the Eagles the ball at their own 40.
Dud: Davante Adams
After stuffing the stat sheet the last two weeks with 100-plus yards in each game, Adams did not have his best against the Eagles. He only caught four passes for 32 yards and dropped two key passes: one the end zone and one deep down the field on a pass that went off his fingertips; it would've been a tough catch.
Dud: Blake Corum
For the second week in a row, the Rams rode the hot hand with Williams, which pushed Corum to the side. He carried it five times for 14 yards and caught one pass for 7 yards, having a minimal impact on the game. After Week 2, it seemed like Williams and Corum were headed for a near 50-50 split, but Williams has unquestionably separated himself again.
