It took a wild comeback, but the Los Angeles Rams rallied late to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia and avoid a 1-3 start, evening their record at 2-2. The team doesn't look nearly as good as many expected heading into the 2026 season, but L.A. remains one of the better units in the league heading into Week 5 and national outlets ranked them as such in the weekly power rankings.
Los Angeles is in the top 10 of every outlet in this roundup, ranging from as high as No. 5 to as low as No. 9. The team will play the 3-1 Buffalo Bills on the road on Monday Night Football this week.
Here's a roundup of power rankings for the Rams for Week 5.
USA Today Sports: 5
They're still out of sorts offensively, QB Matthew Stafford launching a league-high 162 passes for an offense that's
only running 38% of the time. But facing Buffalo's air defense − not exactly the Iron Dome − in Week 5 won't provide much reason to balance things out.
CBS Sports: 9
They were staring 1-3 in the face, but rallied to beat the Eagles. They took advantage of a banged-up Eagles team, which good teams do.
FOX Sports: 7
The Athletic: 5
With all of the star power on this team (though much of it is injured), we want to give the Rams the benefit of the doubt. But while the defense was great, what is going on with Matthew Stafford? The defending MVP is completing just 61 percent of his passes and has six touchdowns to go with six interceptions.
Yahoo Sports: 8
It's tough to drop the Rams two spots after a road win against Philadelphia, but it's getting to a point where they have to play better to reclaim their status as an unquestionably elite team. The first three-plus quarters Sunday were ugly on offense. And that was with Puka Nacua back. Matthew Stafford has six touchdowns and six interceptions in four games. He had eight interceptions all of last season. Stafford is 38 years old and many quarterbacks see a steep decline in their late 30s, if they're still playing.
The Rams won because their defense was fantastic and then the offense came alive for two clutch drives at the end. A decision by the Eagles to go for it on fourth down instead of taking a short field goal to make the score 23-10 in the fourth quarter helped too. The Rams found a way to win but they've looked good in only one of four games, and that was after the Giants lost quarterback Jaxson Dart to injury in the first quarter. It doesn't get easier either: The Rams host the Bills next Monday night.
Sports Illustrated: 6
You forget when Puka Nacua is out for a week or two just how physical a presence he is on the field and how draining it must be to a secondary to deal with him on a down to down basis. Just watch him absolutely clobber a defensive back on a route for no reason.
Bleacher Report: 8
It's fair to say this season has not gone according to plan for the Los Angeles Rams. They're not steamrolling opponents. Instead, Sean McVay's squad sits at .500 thanks to inconsistent performances across the board.
Myles Garrett's absence due to injury doesn't help. Star wide receiver Puka Nacua already missed time this season. Cornerback Jaylen Watson is dealing with a dislocated shoulder. Plus, the league's reigning MVP, Matthew Stafford, isn't playing like one. His six interceptions are tied for the league's second-most.
Eventually, the Rams will get all of their top players back. Stafford is experienced enough to cut down on the mistakes. If/when those things happen, Los Angeles could easily look like the league's Super Bowl favorite. The team simply isn't close to that point through four weeks of play.
ESPN: 7
The Rams came into the season with sky-high expectations after adding defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Trent McDuffie and defensive tackle Aaron Donald to a team that already had the reigning MVP in quarterback Matthew Stafford. But Los Angeles needed an improbable comeback victory Sunday to avoid a 1-3 start. The Rams have been inconsistent and missed significant players because of injuries, including Garrett (three games), Donald (one game) and wide receiver Puka Nacua (two games). Los Angeles might not be playing like a Super Bowl contender right now, but it could be later in the season, especially once Garrett is back from knee surgery.
