Los Angeles Rams starting guard Steve Avila left the game against the Washington Commanders with an apparent hamstring injury in the second quarter.
Avila was hurt on a Kyren Williams run with 10:32 left in the second. Facing a first-and-10 from the Rams’ 20-yard line, Williams ran up the middle from the shotgun for a 4-yard gain, where he was tackled by a Commanders defender. Avila was injured during the run.
Avila was later seen walking off with trainers before being taken to the locker room. The Rams have not yet provided an update on the nature of the injury or whether he will be able to return, but The California Post's Michael J. Duarte reported that Avila had been dealing with a hamstring injury all week after sustaining one in Week 8 against
the Chargers.
His absence would be a notable blow to the offensive line. Avila has started all eight of the Rams’ games this season, making him one of the steadiest presences up front for a unit that relies on interior stability in the run game. He was replaced by Beux Limmer, per Duarte.
