The Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles have developed a cross-country rivalry over the last several years, in part because they've squared off four times in the last three seasons alone. They'll meet once again on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, a pivotal game for both teams early in the year.
The Rams enter at 1-2 after losing to the 49ers and Broncos in the first three weeks, while the Eagles are reeling after their shocking 27-7 loss to Case Keenum and the Bears on Monday night.
The Eagles have had the Rams' number in recent years, but this matchup favors the Rams. Here are five stats and facts to know for Sunday's game.
Eagles are only team in NFL without a takeaway this season
The Eagles were 10th in the NFL last season with 21 forced turnovers, but they're still waiting on their first takeaway
of 2026. They're the only team in the league this year that hasn't forced a turnover on defense, which is a surprising development for Vic Fangio's defense.
They've defended nine passes and forced three fumbles, but they've yet to intercept a pass or recover a fumble.
Rams are much better at creating and preventing explosive plays than the Eagles
Explosive plays often tell the story of how good an offense or defense is, and this matchup favors the Rams. Los Angeles ranks seventh in explosive play rate on offense and sixth on defense compared to the Eagles, who are 15th on offense and 23rd on defense, per Sam Hoppen.
The Rams are still creating big plays on offense despite missing Puka Nacua in the last two games.
Rams have lost 4 straight and 10 of last 11 to Eagles
Sean McVay has faced the Eagles seven times as the Rams' head coach, and he's won just one of those games. He and the Rams have lost four in a row to Philadelphia and six of seven since 2017. Going back even further, the Rams have lost 10 of their last 11 games against the Eagles, dating all the way back to the 2005 season.
They'll try to snap that four-game losing skid on Sunday in Philadelphia, where they last beat the Eagles in 2020.
Rams are 13-5 in 1 p.m. ET games on the East Coast under Sean McVay
Sunday's game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET, which is early for the West Coast Rams. However, such games have never given McVay's teams trouble. Since 2017, the Rams are 13-5 in 1 p.m. ET games in the Eastern Time Zone. One of those losses was to the Eagles last year, with another coming to the Panthers in November.
The Rams played three East Coast games at 1 p.m. ET last year and went 1-2, so they were 12-3 in those contests prior to 2025.
Matthew Stafford is 4-4 vs. Eagles, but has excellent numbers
Stafford has gone just 4-4 in eight career games against the Eagles, but you'd never know he has such an underwhelming record based on his individual numbers. He's averaged 230 yards per game with 16 touchdown passes and only two interceptions, posting a passer rating of 96.2.
The Eagles have sacked Stafford an average of twice per game but have struggled to pick off the veteran quarterback.
