The Los Angeles Rams' secondary was already stretched thin heading into Week 4, but coach Sean McVay says he's hopeful help is on the way.
Safety Kamren Kinchens was among those who missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury, but McVay sounded encouraged by Kinchens ' potential to return soon during a recent episode of the Coach McVay Show.
"We're hopeful that we'll get him back," McVay said, "and optimistic as long as he continues to trend in the right direction."
The Rams could use the reinforcements. McVay said the team was "a little bit thin at corner as is" before the Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos, and the depth took another hit when cornerback Jaylen Watson went down with a shoulder injury.

3, but the Rams could use Kinchen's presence for Week 4. The third-year safety had two interceptions in 2025 following a four-interception rookie campaign. He also had 84 tackles and six passes defended this past season. While his numbers are down in 2026 with just nine tackles, Kinchens hasn't played since he hurt his hamstring in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
In Week 4, the Rams travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. A return by Kinchens would give the back end some much-needed depth. He had seven tackles when the Rams played the Eagles in 2025, and nine in two games versus Philadelphia in 2024.
