After battling a hip injury in practice last week, Puka Nacua was unable to suit up against the New York Giants on Monday night. Like Jordan Whittington, he sat out Week 2, but the Los Angeles Rams still managed to come away with a big win at home.
On Tuesday morning, Sean McVay provided an update on Nacua’s status for Week 3 against the Denver Broncos. Though it seemed like Nacua had a chance to play against the Giants, his status for the Rams’ next game remains up in the air.
McVay said he’s “not sure” whether Nacua will play against the Broncos, but he’s “hopeful” that the star receiver will be able to go.
Sean McVay on Puka Nacua, who sat out against Giants because of groin soreness: "I’m not sure what his status is as far as this next coming
week. I'm hopeful that he'll play…. If he’s ready to go, great. If not, then we’ll continue to roll."

Considering it's a soft-tissue injury, the Rams are likely to play it safe with their star receiver. Those types of injuries can get aggravated if a player is rushed back too quickly, and after seeing Myles Garrett head to IR with a knee injury of his own, the Rams will try to avoid a similar situation with Nacua.
The Rams are set to visit the Broncos at Mile High on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET in search of their second win of the season.
